Belizean Powdered Buns

This is a breakfast or anytime treat popular in my home country of Belize

Equipment

  • Large Bowl
  • Parchment Paper
  • Large Baking Pan
  • Cooling Rack

Ingredients
  

  • 4 Cups All Purpose Flour
  • 2 Cups Light or Dark Brown Sugar
  • 2 Tbsps Baking Powder
  • 2 Tbsps Ground Cinnamon
  • 1 Tbsp Ground Nutmeg
  • 1 Stick Unsalted Butter
  • 1/4 Cup Vegetable Oil
  • 2 Eggs
  • 2/3 Cup Evaporated Milk
  • 2 Tbsps Vanilla
  • 3/4 Cup Raisins

Instructions
 

  • Pre-heat over to 350 degrees, and prepare baking sheet with parchment paper.
    Mix all ingredients together and prepare the buns to bake as shown in the video. Bake for 20-25 minutes, then place powedered buns into the broiler and let brown for a minute or so. Please keep and eye on them so that they will not burn.
    The caloric count is for 2 powdered buns. This recipe should yeild about 24.
